About this item
A wonderfully archetypal early 20th century three piece coffee service made by celebrated company Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF). Known particularly for their Art Nouveau designs with swirling stems and leaves, in this set the WMF designers were clearly influenced by the lean and clean lines which became a quintessential symbol of the 1920’s-1930’s. The WMF mark on the base of each piece with Ostrich, WMF and letter ‘G’ (for Geislingen) was used between 1900 and 1918.
To be aware of: there is a tiny ding (made explicit in photos) to base of coffee pot; light age-commensurate wear to interior of milk jug.
The coffee pot measures 20 cm in height; the sugar bowl is 10.5 cm and the milk jug is 9 cm.
