A gloriously warm, superbly executed oil painting in an Impressionist style that brings some much-needed sunshine! Unashamedly impasto application of oil and strong, Mediterranean colours. This large painting is signed but, sadly I am unable to make out the spelling, let alone the name! It probably dates from sometime in the last 20-50 years and, for me – having lived in southern Europe for many years – it is the epitome of a harbour-side summer morning. The framing is a tasteful pitch-pine – see photos to get an idea – which allows the painting to shine… as it should. There is no damage apart from the tiniest pin-prick towards the top middle – you are only aware of it if the picture is held up to strong light (I have tried to show it from the back in one of the photos).
