A so-called Ginger Jar from the mid to late 19th century when all things oriental were enjoying huge popularity. Chinoiserie designs were everywhere and these lovely printed blue and white glazed pots which would, when first created have had a lid, were no exception. This one has an underglaze white colour with a wrap-around oriental scene. Please note the glaze chip on the rim of the jar.
