About this item
Superlative quality sterling silver bowl of aesthetically brilliant shape, size and design and with pristine hallmarks for Edinburgh 1884. It was made by William Marshall, one of Britain’s most esteemed silversmiths – a bowl of similar date, by William Marshall is part of the National Museum of Scotland’s collection.
The design of the bowl is unequivocally early Arts and Crafts period: its repousse ribbing with a wide band around the top of flowing, floral design. The condition of the bowl is very good/excellent with no obvious flaws, dents or dings.
The weight of the bowl is 146g, it’s dimensions are 10.5 cm by 7.5 cm.
