  • WHO WE ARE

    Way back in the mid-1990’s Raph and Phil, living in the beautiful and ancient town of Arles in Provence, France were founding members of a brand new group called Objets et Images. Made up of artists, crafts-people and, not surprisingly film-makers Objets et Images went on, over the next 10 years to create exhibitions and events celebrating the wonderful skills of talented individuals from far and wide. Amongst those involved in contributing to this rich tapestry were the writer Sir Michael Morpurgo, TV director and artist Nick Ferguson and Cardinal Basil Hulme.

    During this time Raph, Phil and other members of the group became familiar with the then new digital technology in videography and used their increasingly honed skills to produce a number of films in French and in English with local schools and the thriving twinning club in Arles. When Raph and Phil moved back to the UK some years later, and after a bit of a break from film-making they could not resist getting their videography abilities updated and refined. It also made complete sense to keep the name of their former organization…Latin, however seemed a little more international! Thus, the renaissance of Res et Artes.

    In 2022 Res et Artes has invested in new equipment and in acquiring knowledge that will help to produce increasingly challenging film projects. One of the most exciting things this year has been the joining of Res et Artes by a new colleague, Hashan Weerasinghe based in Sri Lanka who has diplomas in Software and Hardware engineering and is responsible for the creation and maintenance of this web site.
Broadening our film production in the community and offering the talents of Raph, Hashan and Phil for the creation of powerful commercial advertising and corporate projects
Giving back to the community through image and sound is the heart and soul of Res Et Artes.
