About this item
A three item set of salt-glazed Royal Doulton Tea pot, creamer and sugar bowl all trimmed with sterling silver, hallmark for Chester 1901 with makers mark Cornelius Saunders and Francis Shepherd. With off white Harvest pattern relief on a cappuccino-coloured base colour this is such satisfying tableware, the silver trim framing the pastoral scene below. Despite a hairline crack – which looks to be secure – through a section of the teapot lid this lovely, country-feel set can be used safely for your morning cuppa or simply as a pretty shelf decoration.
The really interesting thing about dating this lovely trio is that royal endorsement of Doulton products was made in 1901, the year of the hallmark on the silver trim. This means, of course that this was one of the very first creations from the newly formed Royal Doulton company.
I will use Royal Mail Tracked service for this item.
